Carl was kind enough to tell me all about this event he's having. This is in Louisiana and is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society . They are still looking for teams for last weekend in September 2012. It's called the Jim Bowie BBQ Throwdown in the lovely city of Vidalia and the prize money is already over $10K! Way to go Carl!
Highlights:
The event will be held at a spacious and beautiful RV park along the
banks of
the mighty Mississippi River. It is a bucolic setting for a
great contest!
